James E Stewart Sr. moves to Waycross. He begins selling peppermints and peanut brittle from his Ford Model T to area workers and residents.

First candy plant is constructed on Albany Avenue in Waycross

James E Stewart Jr. joins his father at Stewart Candy Co.

1972
James E Stewart Jr. builds a new warehouse on Knight Avenue. Expands from 5k to 20k sq ft. He also adds a rebagging operation in the new building.

James E Stewart Jr. acquires Eli Whitney business and staff making Stewart Distribution the regional cigar and tobacco distributor

Stewart Distribution breaks ground on a new 50,000 sq. ft warehouse on Bonneyman Road in Blackshear, GA

A 20k sq ft expansion is added to the Bonneyman warehouse
1997
1999
Stewart Distribution acquires Laughinghouse Wholesale and key staff. A loading dock expansion is also completed.

First Stewart Distribution tradeshow is held in Waycross
